Crystal Smith:	My name is Crystal Smith, “CRISTAL” or “Queen of Hearts”.
Line Dance Connection:	Where are you from and what city do you call home?
Crystal Smith:	I was born and raised in Detroit, MI….where I still reside.
Line Dance Connection:	What do you do in your professional life? Any hobbies outside of dance?
Crystal Smith:	I am a supervisor with Aramark Custodial Services. My only hobby outside of dance is spoiling my granddaughters.
Line Dance Connection:	So what do they call this dance craze in your home town? Line Dancing, Hustling, Sliding, Other?
Crystal Smith:	In Detroit we call it “HUSTLE”.
Line Dance Connection:	Are you affiliated with any group or groups?
Crystal Smith:	I am a board member of United We Dance.
Line Dance Connection:	How long have you been dancing?
Crystal Smith:	I’ve been dancing since elementary school, about 45 years!!!!
Line Dance Connection:	How did you get involved in dancing?
Crystal Smith:	Dancing came naturally. Throughout elementary, junior and high school, I always did talent shows.
Line Dance Connection:	After you attended your very first class, how did you feel?
Crystal Smith:	I was AMAZED by the UNITY of “HUSTLING”.
Line Dance Connection:	How did you get into choreography?
Crystal Smith:	I initially got into choreography making routines with my girlfriends throughout all of my school years.
Line Dance Connection:	How many dances have you created and what was the very first dance you created?
Crystal Smith:	I have created at least 10 dances and 7 productions. My first dance was the “CRISTAL”. The dance forms the champagne bottle, bubbles, screws the cork, pops the cork and bubbles flows from the neck of the bottle.
Line Dance Connection:	Of all your dances which one would you say is your favorite?
Crystal Smith:	My favorite dance is the CRISTAL and my favorite productions are the SOULFUL GOSPEL PRAISE and the ALL STAR ALL MALE REVUE.
Line Dance Connection:	In your own words, what makes dancing special?
Crystal Smith:	DANCING IS A HEALING SOURCE. IT RELAXES OUR BODY, MIND AND SOOTHES THE SOUL.
Line Dance Connection:	If you could change one thing about dancing, what would it be?
Crystal Smith:	The COMPETITION in it.
Line Dance Connection:	Tell me one thing about yourself that the dance community would find surprising.
Crystal Smith:	I LOVE to dance, create dances and productions. BUT I will never do competitions.
