Line Dance Connection:

What's your name? Do you have a name you’re known by when you’re DJing?

Reggie Reg:

My name is Reginald Sullivan but I go by Reggie Reg when I’m DJing.

Line Dance Connection:

Where are you from and what city do you call home?

Reggie Reg:

I'm originally from Phenix City, AL but I reside in Atlanta, GA.

Line Dance Connection:

How long have you been DJing?

Reggie Reg:

I've been DJing now for 6 years.

Line Dance Connection:

How'd you get into DJing?

Reggie Reg:

I actually got into DJing because of line dancing.

Line Dance Connection:

Are you primarily a line dance DJ? Or do you DJ non line dance events as well?

Reggie Reg:

I DJ both line dance and regular party events. I do both several times a week but I guess you can say I'm primarily a line dance DJ.

Line Dance Connection:

What’s your favorite thing about DJing?

Reggie Reg:

My favorite thing about DJing is the ability to mix music that makes a person say.."Ohhhh!!"

Line Dance Connection:

What's your not so favorite thing about it?

Reggie Reg:

My not so favorite thing is some folks think they can DJ and they don't have that "It" that says you are talented to do the job.

Line Dance Connection:

Some people say a DJ makes or breaks a party; do you do anything special to prepare for a party?

Reggie Reg:

Yes I completely agree the DJ can make or break a party. I personally prepare by researching the area I'm going to and what songs or dances they prefer to hear.  I do that so I can cater to that audience.

Line Dance Connection:

What's the one thing you think you're known for?

Reggie Reg:

The one thing I think I'm known for is my ability to MC and DJ at the same time.

Line Dance Connection:

What song or songs are guaranteed to pack the dance floor?

Reggie Reg:

"In the Line of Duty", "Heritage", "Days Like This", "Co-Sign", "Chuck Baby", "Southside Baby", "Leggo", "Charlie Sheen", "Clear the Floor", "Hot Damn", "L&L Style", "Triple MADD", "Subtle", "Rum and Coke", "Shut Up", "TNT", "Take it to the Hole" and many more!!!

Line Dance Connection:

What song or songs will make you leave the DJ booth and dance?

Reggie Reg:

“Pieces”, “Clear the floor”, “Dark and Smooth” and “Days Like This”.

Line Dance Connection:

How do you manage the multiple requests that come at you during a party?

Reggie Reg:

The way I manage requests is the same way I play my music, I play by tempo and feeling. If someone wants to hear a particular song and it contrasts with the tempo I'm in, I make note and play it when I get to that tempo or close.

Line Dance Connection:

What would you say to people who leave a party upset because they didn’t hear the one song they wanted to hear?

Reggie Reg:

For me it's not about a particular individual, it's about the whole. I try to play every region’s songs that way everyone is getting some of what they are used to dancing to. By doing that every region is represented.

Line Dance Connection:

What's one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

Reggie Reg:

I'm not sure how to answer that question because I generally don't discuss me…..but one thing folks may be surprised to know is that I don't do competitions.  I think competitions bring out the worst in people. For me it's the purity of the dance, not being better or worse than someone else. It's about doing what the music tells you and having fun doing it. That's what brings us together……sharing not competing!!!
