My name is Ronnie Goode and I am also known as Poca or DJ Suga Snaps!

Ronnie Goode:

I was born and raised in Baltimore Maryland.

What do you do in your professional life? Any hobbies outside of dance?

Ronnie Goode:

My professional life is in the medical field.

 

I enjoy crafts and being companion to the elderly.

So what do they call this dance craze in your home town? Line Dancing, Hustling, Sliding, Other?

Ronnie Goode:

In MD we call this dance craze Line Dancing.

Are you affiliated with any group or groups?

Ronnie Goode:

I am the founder of DAMP which stands for DANCE AWAY MY PAIN!

How long have you been dancing?

Ronnie Goode:`

I have been line dancing for 14 years.

 

 

Line Dance Connection:

How did you get involved in dancing?

Ronnie Goode:

I heard a commercial on the radio where line dancing was being advertised so I dragged my sister-in-law with me. I have been hooked ever since.

 

 

Line Dance Connection:

After you attended your very first class, how did you feel?

Ronnie Goode:

My first class was weird because I just jumped in but after I attended my first class I felt slow. LOL My brain doesn't function that way.

 

 

Line Dance Connection:

How did you get into choreography?                                               

Ronnie Goode:

I heard a nice song so I started dancing to it and decided to do a dance. I was terrified that no one would like it.

 

 

Line Dance Connection:

How many dances have you created and what was the very first dance you created?

Ronnie Goode:

I have created 25 dances and my first was done to Alicia Keys' Heartburn. Thus the name of dance was Heartburn.

Of all your dances which one would you say is your favorite?

Ronnie Goode:

I have to say I have 2 favorites. My favorites are Tokyo Drift and TD Bounce.

In your own words, what makes dancing special?

Ronnie Goode:

Dancing allows you to be yourself. You can forget all the problems in your life and the world for a short time. Hence the name of my group DAMP!

 

 

Line Dance Connection:

If you could change one thing about dancing, what would it be?

Ronnie Goode:

I would love for dancing to be the way it used to be. We use to come to dance and fellowship without the drama. Those were the days where there were no competitions and jealousy…..just good ole fun.

Tell me one thing about yourself that the dance community would find surprising.

Ronnie Goode:

I enjoying spending ME TIME watching The Big Bang Theory (haha) and I love sitting with my seniors.
