The Smiths	We are Anita Smith and James Smith Jr. People often call us The Smiths or Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Line Dance Connection:	Where are you from and what city do you call home?
The Smiths	We are both from Washington DC
Line Dance Connection:	What do you do in your professional life? Any hobbies outside of dance?
Anita Smith	I’m an IT Specialist for the DC government. Outside of dance I enjoy pole fitness, staying in shape, outdoor adventurous things, and I love to shop (good sale though).
James Smith Jr.	I work in the communication field, but my background is Telecommunication. I’m adventurous, so when I’m not dancing I try to do some extreme activities, but on the grounded side, movies, tennis, and/or trying to stay in shape.
Line Dance Connection:	Are you affiliated with any group or groups?
The Smiths	No we aren’t affiliated with any group.
Line Dance Connection:	How long have you been dancing?
The Smiths	We’ve both been dancing for 7 years.
Line Dance Connection:	How did you get involved in dancing?
The Smiths	We saw a news segment on TV, featuring the group LDC. We said lets go take some classes, and the rest is history!
Line Dance Connection:	What do you like most about line dancing?
Anita Smith	I like that I can add my own personality and flavor, and it’s good for the mind, body, and soul.
James Smith Jr.	I like that it’s good exercise and so much fun when you put the added flavor in it.
Line Dance Connection:	If you could change one thing about dancing, what would it be?
Anita Smith	I’d like for all floors to be line dance friendly.
James Smith Jr.	I’d like for each event to provide free water and/or allow you to bring in water…come on, it’s too hot yall!!!!
Line Dance Connection:	Tell me one thing about yourself that the dance community would find surprising.
Anita Smith	I….am….terrified of bees!!! And not allergic, go figure!
James Smith Jr.	I get nervous speaking in front of a small to large crowds.
Line Dance Connection	Is there a funny dance story you'd like to share in 3 sentences or less?
The Smiths	Believe it or not, we have the same story in mind. When we first started line dancing, we’d learned 9 dances thinking we knew something. Went to our first social and we thought we were about tear the floor up, but we didn’t know any of the dances they were playing!
